Mexican Schoolgirls in Tambaque

A travelling blogger in Mexico was bemused to see these schoolgirls in rural village of Tambaque emerging from these small huts in neatly-pressed uniforms and carefully-kept books. My grandmother would not have been surprised in the least; my mother spoke of her strictness about keeping your school clothes unhurt and clean, when there was only one outfit. By now, almost every poor person on Earth knows what my grandmother knew: the way out of poverty passes through the schoolhouse door.
