The following image is associated with a Java applet which will compute and display views of the Mandelbrot set. Click it to bring up a separate window in which the entire set is shown. Multiple windows can be brought up by clicking the image multiple times.

You can interact with a display window in the following ways:

- To zoom in, use the mouse to drag a rectangle around the region you'd like to explore.
- To pan, click on a location you'd like to bring to the center.
- To zoom out, hold the SHIFT key and drag a rectangle.
- To display the coordinates in a dialog box, hold the CTRL key and click anywhere in the window. You can use the dialog box to enter new coordinates, as well.

Enjoy!

Here are a few interesting locations within the Mandelbrot set. There are, of course, many more locations worth examining.
