An athletic and versatile hunter, this dog can hunt both waterfowl and game. Named after their tendency to hold their bent front leg and point just before flushing prey.

These very active dogs require lots of daily exercise. A large fenced yard is also important.

They are very alert and make good watch dogs. They are quite intelligent and trainable. However, with their high prey drive, obedience training should start early.

Very affectionate and social, preferring to be with people or another dog.

Colors: Liver, liver and white spots or speckles.
Coat: Their short fur requires minimal grooming.

Shoulder Height: up to 25 inches (62.5 cm)
Weight: up to 75 pounds (34 kg)

Hip dysplasia can be an issue.

Life Span: Can reach 15 years
