
An extremely fast runner, they are widely known for lure coursing events and dog racing. Despite being bred to hunt small game like hare, ancient cultures used them to hunt wolves. These sight hounds have better vision than either shepherds or retrievers. Popularized as the mascot of the Greyhound bus.
Extremely docile indoors, preferring to lie around most of the time. Very active outside, they need lots of exercise and regular runs.
Obedience training should begin early as they will chase any small potential prey item. This also includes small dogs. Tends to be somewhat sensitive when it comes to discipline. Should be socialized as a pup, as they are wary of strangers.
Colors: Varies widely including black, white, fawn, brindle or blue, all can be mixed with white.
Coat: Their short fur requires minimal grooming. May need a coat in colder areas.
