Newsgroups: sci.geo.hydrology,sci.engr.civil Subject: Aquifer Recharge Date: Wed, 20 Sep 1995 04:32:41 GMT Organization: Dubbo City Council Hi all, I work for local government in Dubbo, NSW, Australia, and as with many other places we are having problems with *Aquifer depletion*. Now Dubbo is a rural city in central west NSW with a population of approx 38,000, with increasing urbanisation and every one wanting *green* lawns and open spaces we are having real problems with depletion of our aquifer. [I probably should point out that Dubbo's summer temperature often tops the 45 deg celsius mark] . . . Hence my question... Who out there is implementing an aquifer recharge program and how are you going about it???? . . . >>From: "Bruce G. Campbell, Hyd., Mt. Pleasant, SC" >> >>Hi Mark -- Sounds like you've got quite a problem on you hands. You didn't say >>if the aquifer is confined or unconfined. If it is confined, when the pumping >>level reaches the screens, the aquifer will begin to dewater.
