The Glowing Word

This page collects articles, musings and rants that I've written, either specifically for my web page or for some other medium. This is the closest you will find to a regular column or blog on my web site. I write these things to practice my writing skills, express my opinions, inform others, and vent my anger at the world.

If you have intelligent comments, mail me. I'll probably read them. I might even answer them, or even append them to the relevant articles if they're really good. If I get really boneheaded mail, as many web authors do, I just start a wall'o'shame and invite the world to join me in laughing at you.

If you know me in real life, for example via school or work, be warned that I'm likely not prepared to discuss these topics in any great detail offline. I've had bad experiences before with carrying net discussions over into the real world; let's keep it electronic.

I used to have an excuse on my old rants page about how I'm not some flaming redneck who goes around poking fun at others. Truth is, I'm not like that in person but often I am online. You'll see a rather eclectic and sometimes maybe even self-contradictory range of opinion here. These writings are spread over a long range of time and around some major events in my life. People change over time, and so do their moods.

This is the main index of my writings. There are two sections. The first, immediately below, lists documents containing short pieces, thoughts and musings that I add to over time. These are the closest things I have to a blog. The second part lists full write-and-release articles that I do not add to incrementally, though sometimes I do add after-the-fact addenda.
