Sam's Not-so-Prophetic Dream

by Jeff Dewar, Bob Dewar, Alan Dewar, Mary Lou Dewar and David Dewar

"... and the cats will rule the world!"
"Sam, you moron, cats are too lazy to rule anything!"
"Okay, mister smarty-pants, how would you interpret my prophetic dream?!"

Sam explained that cats are of lower intelligence than most critters.
"Not so," said his friend. "Research shows that kitties are as intelligent as you and me. Do you know how I know?"

"No, I don't," replied Sam. "Please explain."
"All right," said his friend, "consider this. Imagine a tank full of fish. Put a dog on one side of it, a pig on the other, and a cat in the middle. What do you suppose you get?"

"You get an ungodly mêlée with fur flying, skin bruising and ears splitting."
"No, you don't. The lazy cat would sit between the dog and the pig like a sandwich filling, and the pig and dog would be unable to do anything."

"But wait one moment here. You said there was a fish tank. Wouldn't the cat drown?"
"It would catch fish for sustenance."
"I said drown!"
"Ooh, look at the colours..."
"What...? Hey, wait, is that a half-empty bottle of hallucinogenic drugs?!"
"The plushies will rule us all!!!"
"That's it, I'm leaving."
